Well FALL is already here and it's well yes indeed kinda chilly outside and WINTER is right around the corner. I have propane to heat half my house and a coal stove to heat the other half the of the house, don't get me wrong it's a wonderful thing... WHEN IT WORKS properly. I can blame this failure on my husband...
He started it about a week or two ago, with the night time weather dropping in the low teens... it's a wonderful thing since half my house is like 90+ degree's and the other half the house stays at a nice cool 68 degree's which is a nice mix... you can feel the temp change when coming in from out side... which is good! But last night the husband was being stupid... the stove almost went out... using the two bags of coal that I had brought inside he decided that he'd leave the other bags outside... not realizing that it's been blah the last few days he should have brought them in to DRY so they wouldn't cause issues with the stove, NEVER FEED A COAL STOVE WET COAL, that's a big NO NO! So he did anyways and by morning the stove that was almost out last night was yet again almost out again... so now I'm fighting with damp coal and a stupid stove! Grrr... I'm 37 weeks pregnant and shouldn't be lifting 50 lbs of RICE COAL for a COAL STOVE period! But since I'm the only one home who can physically lift it I guess it's left for me to do! On top of that it can sometimes get TOO HOT in this house too! It has it's days and has it's nights but when the weather is really nice it sucks cause with a coal stove their ain't no on/off switch once you start you can't stop till the season's over unless you wanna spend endless hours starting the stove up constantly... it's never fun it's a process that can take anywhere from 45 minutes to 90 minutes to get it to stay constantly lit.
So that's my little rant about my coal stove today... I'm sure all be back to write more about it ... I blame his mother who jinxed us yesterday!
